- Water during thaws if there has been no snow.
- Heap snow around roses, especially hybrid teas, for extra protection.
- Have lawnmower repaired/serviced.

TO DO:
- When seeds arrive from your seed catalog orders, organize packages (those to start indoors, plant early, second planting etc.)
- Use insecticidal soap to get rid of critters on houseplants.
- Clean pots or flats for starting seeds indoors; prepare soil.
- If you saved geraniums in the fall, trim back, water and move into the sun.
If the geraniums were unearthed and stored in paper bags, re-pot, trim, water and place in a sunny spot.
- Dream about the warmer days, when you can get your knees dirty.

- Pot some paper-whites or hyacinths in gravel with half the bulb exposed.
Refrigerate for about ten weeks then place in a sunny spot.
- Reduce watering and fertilizing of houseplants.
- Clean and repair garden tools before storing. Give rakes and shovels a good
scrub with soap, water & steel wool, dry and coat with mineral oil to keep rust free.
